About Me.

I was born in West Hollywood, California in 1938, a fourth generation Californian. Me and my younger brother grew up in the Los Angeles area and spent most summers on our grandparents fruit ranch, high in the Sierra Nevada mountains above Bishop, where I spent lots of time drawing and painting . After graduated from High School in June of 1956, I entered the US Army and spent 2 1/2 years stationed in Germany. I  returned from Germany in June of 1959. I spent the next six years going to college, first at a community college and then on full scholarship to the Otis Art Institute. After graduating from Otis in May of 1965, I was hired at Mt. San Antino College on a full-time tenure track position and started teaching art in September of 1965. In 1970 I was appointed  Art Department Chair and oversaw tremendous student growth over the next 30 years until my retirement from teaching in 2000.  Since then, I continue creating my art and more recently moved from California to Signal Mountain Tennessee to be near my family.
