Ideas and things that I visualize are usually interpreted in a two-dimensional manner using lines and shapes rather than three-dimensional form. This happens even when they are applied to a three dimensional box or object.  At times I have worked in wax and created sculptural forms in metal, but I am more at home working and thinking in 2-D rather than the 3-D realm. The gold panels use a technique similar to etching, only here the lines are drawn through gold or silver leaf exposing a black line, rather than drawing through a wax surface coated on a zinc or copper plate.
