Paintings & Mixed Media

Most of my paintings start with a few line gestures on paper after which I go directly to the canvas. The canvas is the battleground where I struggle with the visual elements of the composition and work out all of the details of the painting. Until the painting is finished, any part of it can be changed or modified at any moment, including the initial idea. The whole process has to be fluid for me, not pre-set before I start.   Most mixed media works are started in the same manner, usually on wooden panels.
